The Heart Behind My Handmade Jewellery

Starting my small jewellery business has been one of the most meaningful and transformative chapters of my life. If you’re new here, welcome, I’m so happy you found my little corner of the creative world.

I’m Vanessa, a Vancouver-based Chilean artist, wife, mom of two, and the hands and heart behind every sterling silver piece you see in my shop.

This blog is the beginning of something I’ve wanted to do for a while: sharing more of the why, the how, and the behind-the-scenes moments that go into each creation. Whether you’re here for the stories, the stones, the symbolism, or the art, thank you for being part of this journey.

 

✨ How It All Began

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had an artistic side, I just didn’t know where it would lead. I spent years feeling pulled toward jewellery-making, drawn to stones, colour, texture, and the idea of turning raw materials into something meaningful that someone can wear forever.

A little over a year ago now, I finally said yes to that calling.

I took every spare moment I had to take classes, learn, practice, and experiment. From soldering to stone setting, sanding to polishing, casting to shaping, every technique became part of a craft I quickly fell in love with.

And now?
This passion has grown into a small business where each piece is made by hand, slowly and intentionally, with the goal of creating something unique and lasting.

 

✨ What Makes My Jewellery Different

Every piece in my shop is: Handcrafted in Sterling Silver.
From the ring shanks to the bezels, every part is shaped, soldered, filed, polished, and finished by me, no mass manufacturing, no shortcuts.

Centered Around Natural Stones: I work with labradorite, sunstone, moss agate, malachite, pyrite, quartz, kyanite, chalcedony, sodalite, and more. Their natural colours, inclusions, and textures guide the design. No two stones are the same, and that’s exactly why I love them.

Created With Meaning: Most of my designs include a symbolism section, because I believe jewellery should make you feel something, grounded, inspired, strengthened, connected.

✨ Behind the Scenes: My Process

A lot goes into creating each piece:

-Choosing the right stone

-Creating a bezel from scratch

-Building the base or band

-Soldering each component

-Sanding, shaping, and refining

-Polishing everything by hand

-Adding textures, details, and finishing touches

-Photographing, packaging, and sending it off with love

I often share these steps in my Instagram reels, like soldering bezels, sand casting, polishing stones, or designing upcoming collections.
