How to protect your Sterling Silver and Gemstone

Sterling Silver is 92.5% Silver. With time it will tarnish naturally.  Some stones can also be softer and more delicate than others.  With proper care, it will prolong your piece for a lifetime of beauty.

Avoid direct contact with perfume, lotions, or make up. Allow perfumes and lotions to dry before wearing your jewellery.

Do not submerge your jewellery in water for long periods of time. Remove jewellery when swimming, bathing or exercising. Avoid humidity and try to keep dry at all times.

When not wearing your jewellery, store in a dry, safe place. Store in microfiber pouch provided, to avoid tarnishing and damage to your stone.

Protect your jewellery from harsh chemicals, such as strong soaps and household cleaners. Some of these chemicals could tarnish metals and could damage your stone.

Keep your jewellery shiny and bright by gently polishing it regularly with the silver polishing cloth provided. Use only on silver parts of jewellery.

If your stone needs cleaning use a mild dish soap and wash with soapy water. Do not let your stone soak, some stones are soft and should never be soaked.

Additional Care Notes

Raw Delicate Stones
Some of my pieces feature raw stones, druzy textures, or softer gemstones such as labradorite, moonstone, howlite, and others. These stones have natural variations that make them beautifully unique, but also more delicate. Avoid dropping them or knocking them against hard surfaces, as raw and softer stones can chip or crack more easily. Treating these pieces with extra care helps preserve their natural beauty.

Sterling Silver Tarnish
Sterling silver (925) naturally develops tarnish over time due to exposure to air, moisture, and skin oils. This is completely normal and can be easily polished away. Regular gentle cleaning and proper storage will help maintain the shine and prevent tarnish from building up quickly.

Polishing Cleaning
Use a jewellery-specific polishing cloth to keep your sterling silver bright and clean. Avoid silver dips or liquid chemical cleaners, especially on pieces containing stones, these products can damage or dull the stone’s surface.
If your stone needs cleaning, a mild dish soap and warm, non-soaking rinse is best. Gently wash with soapy water and soft fingertips, then dry completely before storing.
